Yep, I went and left things to the very last minute this year. I’d meant to get things rolling back in May, but it was a rough month. Then around the time I’d been seriously planning on starting near the beginning of June, we had company show up, which meant keeping the sewing supplies hidden for the weekend. I finally got it all set up last week, and my first order of business was to sort out this whole jacket thing.
I meant to post this on Star Wars Day, since it was a Thursday, and coincided with TBT, but alas, the day got away from me, and then the week was gone, and now here we are, two weeks after the fact. Sadface.
The third and final costume for Fan Expo 2013 was the Rebel Pilot. I’m incredibly proud of this costume, as it is the most complex out of all the costumed I’ve made so far, in terms of, well, everything.
The third costume I made for Timmy – and the first of the 2013 Fan Expo Set – was the Luke Skywalker outfit from Return of the Jedi. It was my “get back into sewing” piece, since it’d been a couple of months since the Italy outfits, and it was also the easiest.
I might re-do this one with the patterns I used for his SF outfits, just on the principle that it’s actually quite sloppy looking up-close, despite it doing the job.
In fact, I think I might re-do a lot of his older costumes just to update the look a bit, since a few of them require some major repair work anyway. I just need to find a decent pattern for a coat that doesn’t sew up all wonky under the arms. I’ll experiment a bit once the holidays are over, and it’s time to start thinking Fan Expo 2017.
Without further ado, here is Timmy Skywalker:
