So, after making the tie (to be featured in another post) I ended up having to re-do the shirt after all. The collar – and thus the entire shirt – would not play nice with the shiny tie, and so I needed to re-do the whole thing from scratch.
This time, I made sure to mark my insides, and I was able to do a better job with the buttons.
And as far as the collar was concerned, I realized I was being an idiot and making things harder than they needed to be. I had the black trim I was going to be using for the hats, and when unfolded worked perfectly with shirt and tie. Plus, the shade of black was perfect, so you don’t even notice it’s not the same material unless you touch it.
Buttons were put onto the jacket, as well (the new ones arrived in time, huzzah!), and now I’m just working on the pockets and the hat. 50% 0f the way on both.
Did I say crunch time? Yikes.
I always cut it down to the wire, no joke.
